Lite Node Update — 5th January

Lite nodes will play a pivotal role within our Vulcan Blockchain ecosystem. Their main function is within the consensus mechanism of the protocol by electing which full nodes will participate in each epoch.

All full nodes must be up and running before lite nodes can be added to the protocol. We understand that the wait can be frustrating for those wanting to run their lite nodes, but it is a necessary part of building a healthy and secure blockchain network. The process for onboarding full nodes is a two step process which includes setting up your server, and then having your node manually elected into consensus. This is a very technical and timely process. The onboarding process for Lite Node Operators will be streamlined and less intense by only needing to download a software executable and running it on your server as a simple 3–5 step wizard.

To expedite the onboarding process for full nodes we have not only created our Leadership Onboarding Program, but we have also scheduled a meeting time with our Node Gods to have direct contact with our Blockchain Development Team. You can read more about this here.
